 Do you remember claims by Democrats that Republicans wanted to take away Social Security benefits from senior citizens? It was but one lie in a series of lies. It is the Democratic Congress that has denied senior citizens increases in monthly benefits the past two years and a Democratic Congress that will decrease Medicare reimbursement claims for seniors through Obamacare. The paltry increase of 3.5% in benefits will be offset by increased deductions for Medicare over the next two years. It is the Democratic run Fannie and Freddie that are responsible for millions of people losing their homes and their retirement savings.

The reason given for the freeze on increases in Social Security payments was a lack of increase in inflation. Only a bureaucrat living in a secure well funded office in Washington could come to that conclusion. Seniors in the real world know otherwise. Monthly Social Security payments average $1,082, or about $13,000 a year. A 3.5 % increase would provide an additional $38 a month, or about $455 a year. Many rely on it for more than 90 percent of their income.

While there appears to be unlimited funding for social services for illegal immigrants, for rebuilding mosques in the Middle East, and for the never ending rebuilding of our infrastructure, Democrats come up short when providing for our nation’s senior citizens. Unlike Congressional members, seniors cannot vote themselves a raise. It is time for senior citizens to recognize that Liberal rhetoric has not translated into a financially secure retirement. It is not billionaires and millionaires, corporations, or small businesses that have spent our nation into oblivion and squandered their hard earned tax dollars; it is greedy corrupt power hungry career politicians.

We have seen Social Security replaced with Social Injustice.
