Elected Officials and Candidates
Cruz Control Tags: Candidates elected officials

The destruction of the Republican Party by President Obama and the Democrats has been simplified by the self-destructive nature of old guard Republicans such as John Boehner and John McCain who seen more concerned with destroying rather that nurturing young idealistic Party members.

A case in point has been the virulent relentless attacks on Senator Ted Cruz for daring to do his job, representing Conservative values, and questioning destructive unconstitutional legislation. Ted Cruz aggressively questioned Democratic Senator Dianne Feinstein on her proposed gun control legislation. Her proposed legislation would restrict the types of weapons that citizens would be allowed to own.

He simply asked the question: Would she would “deem it consistent with the Bill of Rights” to apply the same guidelines of banning weapons in the Second Amendment to the banning of books in the First Amendment? Senator Feinstein apparently outraged that anyone should question her judgment snapped back, “I’m not a sixth grader. Senator, I’ve been on this committee for 20 years.” She described herself as “reasonably well educated,” adding, "I'm not a lawyer, but after 20 years, I've been up close and personal with the Constitution. So it's fine you want to lecture me on the Constitution. I appreciate it. Just know I've been here for a long time."

As a wise person once said, “There is a difference between 20 years of experience and one year of experience twenty times. Age and experience does not necessarily translate wisdom and maturity. Senator Feinstein is just one in a long list of political elitists that feel they know what is best for us, that we lack the smarts to govern our own lives. While her response and behavior as a Democrat and Progressive are understandable the response and behavior of Republican Congressional members such as John Boehner and John McCain are not.

Republican Senators Rand Paul and Ted Cruz were described by Senator McCain as “wacko birds” for merely articulating Conservative values. If only Senator McCain and Speaker Boehner were as passionate in their defense of Conservative principles and our Constitution and an assault on the destructive policies of President Obama and the Democratic Party.

While Senator McCain and old guard Republicans are mired in quagmire of Liberalism and big government, we are delighted to see a Republican Senator running on Cruz Control.

When Speaker of the House John Boehner recently stated that he absolutely trusts President Obama and that he also agreed with the President that we do not have an immediate debt problem the sound of Conservatives jaws dropping was deafening.

The President has not told the truth on job creation, the unemployment numbers, cutting the deficit, the claims of Obamacare, Fast and Furious, Benghazi, transparency, bipartisanship, and class warfare just to name a few. Why would Mr. Boehner believe he is now telling the truth?

Both Boehner and the President claim we have no immediate debt crisis when we in fact have $16 trillion dollars in national debt, trillion dollar budget deficits are far as the eye can see, over $15 trillion in worthless printed money, and $100 trillion in unfunded liabilities for Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. We borrow 40 cents of every dollar we spend. If the Federal Government was a private sector business they would have long since filed for bankruptcy.

Conservatives can certainly understand such statements coming from the mouth of the President but can find no such justification coming from the mouth of Speaker Boehner. It smacks of naiveté, ignorance, or collusion. Does the President or John Boehner actually believe what they are saying or believe that the electorate is ignorant, uncaring, or just disinterested? While the Liberal media, doting followers of the President, and Progressives found such statements reassuring Conservatives found these statements simply Astounding.

Ghost of Elections Past Tags: Candidates elected officials

Former Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney re-emerged after nearly four months in seclusion at his Southern California home. But apparently the party that nominated him, the party that supported him, and the party that campaigned for is now turning their backs on him.

He had the audacity to criticize the President for flying around the country, berating and blaming Republicans instead of preventing Washington’s latest crisis. They are apparently upset that he is doing the job that they should be doing. They say that without a prominent position in the private sector he lacks a ready platform. When it comes to the Republican Party it has not been an obstacle for Sarah Palin. When it comes to the Democratic Party it certainly has not been an obstacle for former President Clinton.

But the problems of the Republican Party lie much deeper than Mitt Romney. They seem more comfortable with attacking members of their own party that attacking President Obama or the Democratic Party. While Speaker Boehner has caved on virtually every issue with the President he was not at all shy about punishing Republican Tea Party House member for failing to fall in line.

And who can forget Chris Christie’s warm embrace and praise for President Obama while trashing his own party. Republican Party members and Conservative pundits all too willingly blamed Romney for his loss in the 2012 elections. They said he failed to get his message out to the voters or sent the wrong message. If Republicans continue to engage in a circular firing squad they will not have anyone left to shoot at.

There was nothing wrong with the Romney/Ryan message. There was nothing wrong with either their character or credentials. Voters let ignorance, greed, and prejudice take precedence over the President’s record and the best interests of our nation. Like old Ebenezer, Republicans are cowering in their bedrooms afraid of the Ghost of Elections Past.

Obfuscation Tags: Candidates elected officials

After midnight on March 1 the world as we know it ceased to exist. The seas had risen 40 feet, the sun no longer rose in the east, the temperature dropped 50 degrees, crops no longer grew, our cell phones ceased to function, cable TV could not be seen, teachers, firemen, and policemen were out of work, hospitals closed, and movie stars huddled in their mansions. At least that was the scenario the President Obama and the White House presented.

The sequester was actually not a cut in real spending just a cut in the rate of increase in spending for the Federal government. And that cut amounted to about $43 billion, with $22 billion of that affecting the military. A decrease of a mere 2.3% left Democrats running down the halls of Congress screaming that our nation was being destroyed. Actually our nation is being destroyed but not by budget cuts; it is being destroyed by uncontrolled spending.

A real decrease in spending of 2.3% by an individual or a company would go unnoticed. But for gluttonous members of Congress and the White House this is nothing short of catastrophic. The Federal government will actually spend more in 2013 than it did in 2012 even with the cuts. It must be remembered that any increase in spending is based on a bloated baseline resulting from a trillion dollar stimulus tacked on to our budget every year since President Obama took office.

In 2007 when Bush was still President and Republicans controlled Congress the budget deficit was a mere $162 billion. In 2008 with Bush still President and the Democrats in control of Congress the deficit was $457 billion. In 2009 with Obama President and Democrats in control of Congress the budget deficit soared to $1.4 trillion, almost a tenfold increase in just two years. The almost trillion dollar stimulus introduced in 2009 has remained in the budget each succeeding year.

But why tell the truth when lies are so easily accepted by the electorate? With a slight of hand reminiscent of Houdini, President Obama is pulling yet another rabbit out of his magical hat. This is not an exercise in responsible governing it is an exercise in Obfuscation.

Ban on Politicians Tags: Candidates elected officials

Democrats and other Liberals are pushing hard to restrict or remove guns from the hands of law abiding citizens. Convinced that we are unable to make responsible decisions about the defense of ourselves and our families they once again act like the paragons of virtue and wisdom. But who has been most responsible for the moral, economic, and physical destruction of our nation and its people; it is politicians.

Their laws and policies have saddled us with $16 trillion in debt, trillion dollar budget deficits as far as the eye can see, high unemployment, and a disastrous housing market. They have bankrupted Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, the Post Office, transportation, and government pensions. They have swelled the ranks of people on welfare, food stamps, people below the poverty level, long term unemployment, and people on disability. They have grown government while shrinking the private sector.

They have trashed the Constitution, ignored the courts and the Rule of Law and bypassed Congress. They have failed to secure our borders, destroyed Pubic education, and forced through unpopular and unconstitutional health care reform. They have engaged in class warfare, attacked Christian principles, attempting to remove any mention God and all religious symbolism. They have attacked hard working successful people while pandering to those who live off government handouts.

They have legitimizes the slaughter of 54 million unborn infants through Roe v Wade. They were responsible for the deaths of four embassy employees in Benghazi and a border guard and over 300 Mexicans from “Fast and Furious”. Their wars have cost the lives of almost one million Americans. Guns control polices have kept criminals armed and citizens defenseless.

It is not citizens, small businesses, and corporation that have led to our moral and financial decline. It is not the lack of laws that is responsible for deaths from handguns or rifles. Nor will a new law or new laws prevent criminals from committing crimes. Based on history, if we want to restore law, order, morality, and our Constitution we do not need a ban on guns; we need a Ban on Politicians.

Straw Men Tags: personal responsibility politicians

If you listened to the President’s State of the Union address you probably recognized that it played more like a campaign speech than a State of the Union speech. It was a though he never left the campaign circuit. He spent his last four years exorcising imaginary demons from without rather than focusing on the real demons within.

He attacked Republicans, Conservatives, and Tea Party members. He attacked the insurance companies, the health care industry, pharmaceuticals, then Wall Street, speculators, bankers, and investors. He then attacked the oil companies, coal companies, natural gas providers, automobile manufacturers, and anyone not promoting green energy.

He attacked big business, small business, and anyone considered successful and self-reliant. He attacked religion and all of its symbolism, those who believe in the second amendment, and those who believe in securing our borders.

It is as though he has been an observer the past four years and not the man responsible for the destruction of our economy, the Constitution, and the Rule of Law. He is either unable or unwilling to take ownership for havoc he has inflicted on our nation. This would not be possible, were it not for doting media and his adoring voting base. Rather than fighting men who are complicit in our nation’s demise he prefers fighting Straw Men.

Magic Words Tags: Candidates elected officials

Most people have probably heard about a program, “The Total Transformation”, which is meant to deal with problem children, children that are defiant, mouthy, and act out in public. The program emphasizes the use of language and specific words to correct improper behavior. After the 2012 elections, the wizards of smart were quick to place blame on Mitt Romney, the Republican Party, and anyone they feel had a hand in his defeat.

The blame was placed solely on the message and the messengers. Communication requires a sender and a receiver. There is the assumption that the entire electorate was tuned in with their “listening ears”. That they came to the table with open minds, that they studied the issues and the candidates, that they examined the President’s record over the past four years and came to a logical rational decision in the voting booth.

The facts are: the President and his record were exposed as were his glaring deficiencies. Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan laid out a clear and viable alternative to our current path of economic and social destruction. They presented a plan of fiscal responsibility, individual liberties, personal responsibility, job growth, and unlimited opportunities for personal success.

The problem was not in the sender; the problem was in the receiver. An electorate unable or unwilling to consider the objective facts of a disastrous first term, an electorate unwilling to take the time to study the issues and the candidates, an electorate focused on the candidate that would deliver the most “free stuff”, and an electorate that placed more importance on the color of one’s skin rather than the content of their character decided the election.

It was ultimately voters that put their personal interests above the interests of the nation that spelled defeat. They were more swayed by the person who told them what they wanted to hear than the person who told them what they needed to hear. Every parent knows this is sadly true. When it comes to convincing voters on the candidates most capable of leading our nation there are no Magic Words.

He Drinks Water Not Kool Aid Tags: elected officials

Just when we thought the mainstream media couldn’t get any more absurd they have once again lowered the professional standards bar. While giving his response to the State of the Union speech, Senator Marco Rubio reached for a bottle and took a sip of water to ease his parched throat. Either the media had never seen a bottle of water, never seen someone take a sip from a bottle of water, or were simply grasping for a story.

Only the mainstream media could take a totally obscure and irrelevant incident and make it a prime time story. The 2016 primaries have not yet begun but the media is already targeting Marco Rubio as a potential Republican Presidential nominee. They are even speculating that the water drinking incident may well have doomed his chances for a nomination. If they can be this apoplectic about someone quenching their thirst one can only imagine their response to a real issue.

Unwilling to cover the real story of a President drunk with power and unwilling to curb his ravenous appetite for spending our nation into oblivion, they have decide they would rather exorcise imaginary demons. They have been complicit throughout the past four years in President Obama’s quest for dictatorial powers. They have remained conspicuously quiet as President Obama has trashed the Constitution, ignored the Courts and the Rule of Law, and bypassed Congress.

Rather than acting as unbiased sentinels for the preservation of our Republic and our Constitution they have been willing participants in the systematic dismantling of what was the greatest nation the world has seen. Co-conspiracy has masqueraded as journalism. But unlike the mainstream media, we can at least say of Senator Marco Rubio, He Drinks Water Not Kool Aid.

Mr. Know It All Tags: politicians elected officials

Remember the Rocky and Bullwinkle Show and the segments that featured Bullwinkle as Mr. Know It All? In his typical know-it-all fashion he pompously gave advice and instruction on any and every topic. Back in 2008 when Barack Obama was campaigning for President he came to the table with no experience in economics, business, management, foreign policy, and the military and scant experience in politics. Despite the fact that he was the most inexperienced unqualified person ever to run for the office of the Presidency he won the election.

Hardly a day goes by that he doesn’t lecture Congress, the private sector, and the American people. Drawing his vast void of real world experience he is convinced that he knows better than our nation’s combined intellect. It was he who once said of himself. “I think that I’m a better speechwriter than my speechwriters. I know more about policies on any particular issue than my policy directors. And I’ll tell you right now that I’m gonna think I’m a better political director than my political director.”

These are statements made by a President who has added $6 trillion in new debt, trillion dollar budget deficits as far as the eye can see, high unemployment, a disastrous housing market, a failed energy policy, He has trashed the Constitution, ignored the courts and the Rule of Law, and bypassed Congress. He has engaged in class warfare and partisan politics, created a toxic business environment, passed an expensive and highly unpopular health care bill, printed trillions in worthless money, and wasted tens of billions on failed green energy companies.

His Middle East peace initiative is up in flames. Russian is updating their nuclear inventory while we are gutting ours. The military machines of China, North Korea, and Iran have become more formidable why ours is being emasculated. He has ignored our allies and courted our enemies. A man rose to power on the promise of hope and change has led us down the path of ruin and despair. His record and our demise speak for themselves. While his charismatic cult like persona may have befuddled the masses he has proved to the world that he is not a Mr. Know It All.

Such Sweet Sorrow Tags: Candidates elected officials

The time has come for us to end our relationship. You are having an affair with another Party. When we first saw you, you were the Party we had been looking for. You believed in the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, the Rule of Law, and the Separation of Powers. You believed in Capitalism, the Free Market, and individual liberties.

You believed in small and limited government, personal accountability, and self-reliance. When you talked about American Exceptionalism and its greatness we were excited. You promised small government, low taxes, and a balanced budget. You promised to remove barriers for businesses, institute welfare and tort reform, and change our punitive progressive tax system.

But you changed, not all at once, but we should have seen the signs. You told us you just wanted to get to know them better and work with them. Government grew and so did our debt and you said nothing. In the name of compassion you expanded the welfare rolls and other government benefits while placing a greater burden on taxpayers. You joined in with Democrats for fear of being criticized. The strong independent Party we once knew no longer existed. We liked you because you were different; we once had so much in common.

I hope that one day you will come to your senses and be the Party you once were and can still be. We had so much hope and thought our relationship would last forever. But, for now, we can no longer continue a relationship with a Party we can no longer trust. In the words of Shakespeare from “Romeo and Juliet”, Good night, good night! Parting is Such Sweet Sorrow.
